The American Red Cross is providing hot meals and shelter to the victims the unusual, but deadly tornado that slammed Western and Central Massachusetts on Wednesday.

People can donate online at http://redcross.org or by phone: 1-800-RED-CROSS. Those who wish to donate can also text "REDCROSS" to 90999 to send $10 to the organization. The charge appears on the donor's phone bill.

The Salvation Army of Massachusetts is also accepting contributions in the aftermath the twister that killed four, injured scores of others and have left hundreds homeless.

The Boston Red Sox Foundation is also organizing fund-raisers and accepting donations to help victims of the Massachusetts tornadoes, as well as the massive Twister that ripped through Joplin. Mo.

"My wife is from Missouri so this tragedy struck particularly close to home," said Sox pitcher Clay Buchholz. "We were both deeply saddened by the devastation the townspeople of Joplin suffered during this natural disaster. This is one small way that we can contribute to the relief efforts and help encourage others to lend support in any way they can."
